Conferences organized with active support from the project
  • G. Centi (cPI) and S. Perathoner were co-chair of the international congress ICEC2025 (International Conference on Environmental Catalysis; Isola delle Femmine PA - Sicily, Italy, 2-5 June 2025; nearly 500 participants), which will also be an excellent dissemination event for the SCOPE project, with the participation of many of the researchers involved and a plenary keynote given by A. Bogaerts.

Relevant activities and disseminations
  • The international and industrial Doctorate ACCESS ("Advanced catalytic processes for using renewable energy sources") stems directly from the SCOPE project led by UniME and involves UANT and TUe (UWAR and UoA are associated members; all PIs are part of the Doctorate Board), continued in RP5 with the cycles 40 and 41 (according to the Italian Doctorate indications). Although new PhD students were not directly supported by SCOPE grants in 40-41 cycles, being necessary to guarantee their support beyond the end of the project,  several of the SCOPE-supported (Luana De Pasquale, Francesco Pio Abramo, Victor Longo, Palmarita Demoro, Bart Wanten,  have obtained their PhD degrees in this or the previous RP. At the same time, some of them (Viviana Amoroso, Veronica Costantino, Lavanya Veerapuram, Kiramn Zahra, Imen Cherif, Joran Van Turnhout) continue their PhD activities during RP5 (Joran Van Turnhout will obtain his PhD in the coming months from PI1). Additionally, the project's support for mobility and training activities of SCOPE PhD students continued in RP5 (P. Squillaci, L. Veerapuram, A. Belmashkan).  The four PIs of the SCOPE project are members of the Doctorate Board, and they also hosted SCOPE PhD students for mobility/training periods.
  • G. Centi has been actively involved and is a member of the Board of the EU CSA initiative SUNER-C (https://sunergy-initiative.eu/suner-c/), which involves over 300 stakeholders in Europe and aims to accelerate innovation and enable the required transition of technologies for solar fuels and chemicals from laboratory or demonstrator level to large-scale industrial and broad societal applications.
  • A second joint paper was written by the four PIs (Perspectives and Emerging Trends in Plasma Catalysis: Facing the Challenge of Chemical Production Electrification, ChemCatChem 2025, 17, e202401938), outlining the future directions and emerging possibilities in plasma catalysis. It was based on the presentation by G. centi at ICC2024 in Lyon, the major worldwide catalysis event.
  • A book on plasma catalysis has been prepared and edited by the four PIs of the project.

Follow-up activities
  • G. Centi (cPI), as a follow-up of the SCOPE project, presented an application for EU PoC 2024, which received the Sealing of Excellence, although not funded. It was presented again  for EU PoC 2024-
